Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers.

Does this replace my legal obligation to display notices?

[LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED] No. LabourKiosk supports your notice-display obligations by showing official notices and keeping them up to date from official sources. The employer remains responsible for knowing which notices apply to the workplace and for meeting its obligations. Check with your labour adviser if you are unsure.

What if the internet goes down?

The screen keeps a copy of its notices and carries on showing the last approved version it received. When the connection returns it checks for updates again.

What if the screen is turned off?

A screen can only show notices while it is on. On a screen you own, switch off sleep and the screen saver and set it to start by itself when the power returns. The Help pages in your portal list these settings. The Kiosk box restarts by itself after a power cut.

Your portal shows which screens have not checked in recently.

Which languages are available?

Notices are in English today. More languages are planned. Your portal only offers a language once the notices exist in it.

How are updates checked?

We watch the official Department of Employment and Labour sources for changes. A person reviews every change before it is approved. Approved updates are signed and your screens pick them up when they next check in. The date a notice was last verified is shown on screen.

Can I add my own notices?

Company notices, your own notices shown alongside the official ones, are an add-on that is coming soon. You can register your interest now. The official notice wording itself cannot be edited.

Can I choose which posters I show?

Yes. In your portal you choose which posters your screens show, for the whole organisation or for a single screen. You remain responsible for knowing which notices apply to your workplace.

What happens if I stop paying?

We never switch your screens off the moment a payment is missed. There is a grace period first, and you will see a notice in your portal.

During the grace period your screens carry on as normal and keep updating.

When the grace period ends, your screens stop updating and show a message that the subscription is not active.

Your organisation settings, branding and contacts are kept, so switching back on is quick when the subscription is active again.
